COLUMBUS CATHOLIC SOCCER PULLS AWAY IN FINAL MINUTES TO WIN AT PACELLI

STEVENS POINT – Kellen Delaney and Grant Olson scored goals in the final four minutes to lift the Marshfield Columbus Catholic soccer team to a 3-1 win over Stevens Point Pacelli on Thursday night in Central Wisconsin Conference action.


Alex Edwards scored at the 6:51 mark for Columbus Catholic and that 1-0 lead held until the final 10 minutes when a flurry of offensive action decided the game.


Alex Deckers tied the score with a goal for Pacelli with 8:06 left, but the Dons quickly responded.





Delaney scored on an assist from Olson with 3:51 to go, and Olson ended it with another goal with 17 seconds left.


Columbus Catholic outshot Pacelli 20-10 on goal.


The Dons improve to 6-2 overall and 2-1 in the CWC. Columbus Catholic will play a nonconference match at Northland Lutheran on Saturday. Pacelli falls to 1-4-2 overall and 1-3-1 in conference play, and will play at Northland Lutheran for a CWC match on Monday.
