PITTSVILLE VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS PORT EDWARDS TO FINISH CWC SOUTH AT 3-3

PITTSVILLE – The Pittsville volleyball team finished its regular season and conference schedule with a 3-0 sweep of Port Edwards on Tuesday at Pittsville High School.


Pittsville won 25-18, 25-19, 25-19.


Pittsville and Port Edwards finish the Central Wisconsin Conference South Division with an even 3-3 record.


Reese Grimm had eight kills and seven digs, Madisyn Schooley had eight digs, four blocks and six service aces, Angel Millard had 10 assists, and Brooke Grossman had seven assists for Pittsville.


Kaylee Jacobson had a team-high eight digs, and Sara Lacoursiere had seven digs and two aces as well for the Panthers.


“We played a solid game to take us into the playoffs,” Pittsville coach Buff Heller said. “The girls felt we could have been a higher seed if this game was before the seeding meeting. Hopefully we take this momentum into next week. I feel we are a pretty strong No. 8 seed.”


Both teams open WIAA postseason play Tuesday, Oct. 19, with Division 4 regional quarterfinals. Pittsville will host Wisconsin Valley Lutheran and Port Edwards will be at home against Greenwood.
