WISCONSIN RAPIDS LEGION BASEBALL DEFEATS MIDDLETON, STEVENS POINT TO EXTEND WINNING STREAK TO NINE

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids American Legion baseball team extended its winning streak to nine games with a pair of wins in its home tournament on Sunday at Witter Field.

Wisconsin Rapids defeated Middleton 7-4 and Jordan Tibbets threw a no-hitter as the Rangers blanked Stevens Point 4-0 to finish the two-day tournament at 4-0.

Rapids (9-1) had 12 hits in the win over Middleton, three from Caden Sengbusch, who also had two RBIs. Austin Junemann, Carson Gunderson and Jacob Dekarske each had two hits, with Dekarske driving in three in the victory.

Tibbets struck out four and walked just one in throwing the seven-inning complete game no-hitter for the Rangers against Stevens Point. Junemann and Zach Schaefer each had two hits in the victory.

Wisconsin Rapids will wrap up its regular-season schedule at home Monday against Marshfield. The game starts at 7 p.m. and will be live at zaleskisports.com.
