STEVENS POINT GIRLS TENNIS DOMINATES MERRILL

MERRILL – The Stevens Point girls tennis team lost a total of six games in seven matches as it rolled to a 7-0 sweep of Merrill in a Wisconsin Valley Conference dual Thursday at Merrill High School.


Jessica Kleman at No. 1 singles, Addison Jandrain at No. 4 singles, the No. 2 doubles team of Caroline Blakeman and Berit Borgnes, and the No. 3 doubles team of Mallory Greenwood and Ashley Smith all swept their matches 6-0, 6-0.


Stevens Point will host D.C. Everest in a Wisconsin Valley Conference meet on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

Doubles: 1. Abby Erwin-Tatum Thielman (SP) def. Tessa Wheat-Amelia Skoviera, 6-1, 6-1; 2. Caroline Blakeman-Berit Borgnes (SP) def. Courtney Schneider-Lydia Burrows, 6-0, 6-0; 3. Mallory Greenwood-Ashley Smith (SP) def. Mariah Jacoby-Chloe Belant, 6-0, 6-0.
