SPASH SOFTBALL TAKES TWO AT WAUSAU WEST

WAUSAU, WI - The SPASH Panthers girls softball team improved its record to 7-2 overall and 4-0 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference with a double header sweep at the Wausau West Warriors on Tuesday.


The Panthers rolled to a 15-4 win in game one while racking up 19 hits in a six-inning game. Jenna Eilers and Kyla O'Neal each hat three hits and combined for five runs batted in. Jaelyn Slowinski pitched five innings, giving up just two hits and striking out four.


In game two, the Panthers jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the first inning and never looked back, completing the sweep with an 11-1 win. Eilers, Zoey Fink, and Riley Pechinski all had two hits for SPASH. Caitlyn Kaminski powered in four RBI while Fink and Slowinski each had two. Maren Sauvageau picked up the win in five innings of work, giving up four hits and one earned run.

Next up for SPASH is a non-conference game on Friday, May 14th against Watertown with first pitch at Woyak Field scheduled for 4:30pm.
