PLOVER LEGION BASEBALL GRAB WINS OVER OSHKOSH, LA CROSSE

PLOVER – The Plover Black Sox American Legion baseball team extended its winning streak to four with a pair of wins at a home triangular Saturday at Memorial Park.
Plover defeated Oshkosh 14-4 and La Crosse 5-4 to improve to 6-3 this season.
Plover took care of Oshkosh in five innings via the 10-run rule as the Sox had seven hits and took advantage of nine walks.
Thomas Hunter had a single, a double and four RBI, and Carl Biechler added two hits and three RBI in the win for the Black Sox.
Kaden Thauer allowed three runs in 4 1/3 innings, striking out eight to earn the victory.
Against La Crosse, the Black Sox scored five times in the first three innings and were able to hold off a late rally.
Landon Moe drove in two and Tommy Drohner had two of Plover’s six hits in the Game 2 win.
Plover will play a doubleheader at Green Bay Southwest on Sunday starting at 1 p.m. The games will be broadcast live at zaleskisports.com.
