PORT EDWARDS – Sam Bowden scored 22 points to lead the Pittsville boys basketball team to a 54-36 win over Port Edwards on Friday night at John Edwards High School.
Bowden was 11-for-13 from the field and added a team-high six rebounds in the win for the Panthers, who are now 8-12 overall and 4-7 in the CWC South.
Marcus Getsinger was 5-for-7 from 3-point range to score 15 points for Pittsville.
The loss for Port Edwards (15-8, 8-3 CWC South) knocks it out of conference title contention. Statistics for the Blackhawks were not reported.
Pittsville plays a nonconference game at Rib Lake on Monday before both teams finish their CWC South and regular-season schedules Thursday. Pittsville hosts Rosholt and Port Edwards will play at Stevens Point Pacelli. The Port-Pacelli game will be broadcast live at zaleskisports.com.
