MOSINEE VOLLEYBALL FINISHES UNDEFEATED AT HOME QUADRANGULAR MEET

MOSINEE – The Mosinee volleyball team opened its season with a 3-0 record and the team title at its home Mosinee Quadrangular on Tuesday.


Mosinee defeated Markesan 25-11, 25-19; Altoona 25-20, 25-14; and Merrill 25-13, 25-19, to win the team title.


Merrill finished 2-1, Altoona 1-2, and Markesan 0-3 at the tournament.


Abbi Martin had 21 kills and six blocks, Jenna Placek added 14 kills, and Alexis Jonas had a team-high 46 assists for Mosinee.


Claire Selenske added nine kills and six service aces, Jessica Maurer had five aces and 10 digs, and Hailey Shnowske led the Mosinee defense with 11 digs.


Mosinee will compete at the Menomonie Sprawl at the University of Wisconsin-Stout on Friday and Saturday before opening Great Northern Conference action Sept. 2 at Medford.
