MARSHFIELD WINS SEVEN EVENTS, FINISHES SECOND TO STEVENS POINT AT FIRST HOME BOYS TRACK MEET

MARSHFIELD – Marshfield won seven events, but came up just short of the team title at its first home boys track meet at Roehl Track at Heiting Community Stadium on Tuesday.


Stevens Point won the team title with 95.5 points, with Marshfield second with 94, Wausau East was third with 40, and Merrill fourth with 38.5 points at the boys track quadrangular.


Wyatt LeMoine won three events for Marshfield, earning victories in the high jump (5 feet, 8 inches), the long jump (20-9¼), and the triple jump (43-0).


Marshfield also had event wins from the 3,200-meter relay team of Seth Oemig, Jesse Messmann, Myles Jensen and Ian Brunson (9:25.92), Jaiger Halvorsen in the 400 (54.09 seconds), Lukas Barth in the 100 meters (11.27) and Henry Hoerneman in the 1,600 (4:43.81).
