MADISON EDGEWOOD DOUBLES UP SPASH BOYS HOCKEY

MADISON – The Stevens Point boys hockey team dropped a 4-2 decision to Madison Edgewood in a nonconference game Tuesday at the LaBahn Arena.
Aidan Lenz scored twice as Edgewood (8-3) built a 3-0 lead midway through the second period.
Kade Smigaj scored with 2:01 left in the second period and added another goal 2:50 into the third for Stevens Point to cut its deficit to 3-2, but the Panthers couldn’t find a way to tie it up.
Matt Richter added a goal for Edgewood with less than two minutes remaining to finish off the scoring.
Stevens Point (5-2) plays a Wisconsin Valley Conference game at Wausau West on Thursday. The game, at the Marathon Park Ice Arena, begins at 7:15 p.m.
