GREENWOOD – Greenwood/Loyal scored five runs in the first two innings and went on to roll past Marathon 9-1 in a nonconference softball game Thursday.
Kaitlyn Lindner threw a complete-game three-hitter for the Greenhounds (14-7), and also had a single, a double and an RBI at the plate in the win.
Kayla Bremmer hit a two-run homer in the first inning and finished with four RBIs, and Mesa Rasmussen was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored for Greenwood/Loyal.
Greenwood/Loyal will play a WIAA Division 3 regional semifinal at Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau, and Marathon (8-14) will be at Mondovi in a Division 4 regional semifinal, both on Monday.
