ASSUMPTION GIRLS SOCCER BLANKS ALTOONA/FALL CREEK IN CONFERENCE OPENER

ALTOONA – The Wisconsin Rapids Assumption girls soccer team, following two ties to open its season last Saturday, earned its first win by blasting Altoona/Fall Creek 6-0 in its Mid-Western Wisconsin Soccer Conference opener Thursday at Altoona High School.


Kendall Duellman scored twice and Kayla Kerkman added a goal in the opening 16 minutes to help the Royals to a 3-0 lead by halftime.


Assumption added three more goals in the second half, one on an Altoona/Fall Creek own goal two minutes in, and on scores from Grace Dolan and Clara Kubis.


Assumption (1-0-2) hosts Eau Claire Regis/Chippewa Falls McDonell for another conference game at 6 p.m. Friday at Washington Field.
