AMHERST BOYS BASKETBALL SNAGS WIN AT PORT EDWARDS

PORT EDWARDS – Tyler Soulsby made four 3-pointers and scored 20 points to lead the Amherst boys basketball team to a 48-41 nonconference win over Port Edwards on Thursday at Port Edwards High School.
Amherst led 28-17 at halftime and were able to hold off the Blackhawks in the second half to improve to 2-0 this season.
Nathan Gibbs scored 24 points for Port Edwards (1-3).
Amherst opens its Central Wisconsin Conference East Division schedule at Bonduel on Tuesday. Port Edwards will play a nonconference game against Wauzeka-Steuben at the Just-A-Game Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells on Saturday at 4 p.m.
