ABBOTSFORD FOOTBALL HOLDS OFF CRIVITZ IN WIAA DIVISION 6 LEVEL 1 PLAYOFF GAME

ABBOTSFORD – Ty Faltesiek ran for 190 yards and three touchdowns as the Abbotsford football team overcame four lost fumbles to edge Crivitz 26-15 in a WIAA Division 6 Level 1 playoff game Friday night at Abbotsford High School.


Abbotsford led 12-7 at halftime after Faltesiek scored from 18 yards out and Evan Reis added a 3-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.


Faltesiek extended the Falcons’ lead to 18-6 with a 14-yard touchdown run.


After Crivitz (6-4) cut it to 18-13, Faltesiek ripped off a 54-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to put the game away for Abbotsford (8-4).


Abbotsford moves on to a Level 2 matchup with Colby (12-1) on Friday, Oct. 29 at Colby High School. The two Marawood Conference foes were to meet in Week 5, both with 4-0 records at the time, but Abbotsford had to forfeit due to health and safety protocols.


JV Castillo added 85 yards rushing for the Falcons, who had 334 rushing yards overall in the game.
