APPLETON – The Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln girls tennis team competed at the Appleton West Al Tebow Invitational on Saturday.

Wisconsin Rapids’ No. 1 doubles team of Teagann Bondioli and Abbey Gust were the only Raiders to win two matches. The team went 2-1, defeated Jacey Smith-Taylor Wrock of Watertown 6-1, 6-4; and Audrey Schuebbert-Hadley Schultz of Appleton West 6-2, 3-6, 10-5.

Corinne Sazama was 1-2 at No. 1 singles, beating Maddy Madra of Hartford 6-3, 6-0; and the No. 2 doubles team of Aleeya Leach and Sawyer Holberg earned a 6-0, 6-0 win over Makenzie Kohn-Ella Haskamp of Tomah for Wisconsin Rapids’ only other match wins.

Wisconsin Rapids returns to Wisconsin Valley Conference action Tuesday when it hosts Merrill at 4 p.m.

No. 3 singles: Aleigh Weight lost to Avery Robas (Appleton West), 6-1, 6-3; lost to Logan Lowry (Appleton East), 6-2, 6-4; lost to Liz Jelenk (Sheboygan North), 6-2, 6-3.

No. 4 singles: Julia Krueger lost to Bo Shimmer (Hartford), 1-6, 6-1, 10-2; lost to Ella Dvorak (Appleton West), 6-0, 6-1; lost to Makayla Ueeck (Tomah), 7-5, 6-2.

No. 2 doubles: Aleeya Leach-Sawyer Holberg def. Makenzie Kohn-Ella Haskamp (Tomah), 6-0, 6-0; lost to Makenna Bennett-Payton Steward (Appleton West), 2-6, 6-2, 10-1.
