STRATFORD SOFTBALL SWEEPS SEASON-OPENING TWINBILL OVER STANLEY-BOYD

POYNETTE – The Stratford softball team opened its 2022 campaign with a doubleheader sweep over Stanley-Boyd on Saturday at Poynette High School.

The Tigers won 10-4 and 7-0 to start the season 2-0.

Bailey Linzmaier had two hits and three RBIs, and Tessa Berg added a pair of RBIs for the Tigers in the Game 1 win.

Laney Pankratz threw a shutout in Game 2 for the Tigers, scattering five hits with six strikeouts.

Kressa Wenzel and Linzmaier each had two hits and three runs scored in the victory for Stratford.

Stratford will open its Marawood Conference South Division schedule Monday at Wisconsin Rapids Assumption. The game, to be played at Robinson Park, will start at 4:45 p.m. and will be broadcast live at zaleskisports.com.
