RHINELANDER – Nate Streveler made four 3-pointers and nearly outscored Rhinelander by himself as he led the Stevens Point boys basketball team to a 53-28 nonconference victory on Friday night at Rhinelander High School.


Streveler finished with 28 points to match Rhinelander’s team total as the Panthers were in control from the start.


Stevens Point limited Rhinelander to 12 points in the first half as it took a 15-point led into halftime.


Danny Zdroik added nine points and Baraka Makalin had eight for Stevens Point.


Both teams are now 8-6 this season.


Stevens Point hosts Wisconsin Rapids on Tuesday.
