SPASH WRESTLING WINS TWO TITLES, FINISHES SIXTH AT FOND DU LAC INVITE

FOND DU LAC – Stevens Point won a pair of weight classes and finished sixth at the 25-team Fond du Lac Wrestling Invitational on Saturday.
Wausau West had three individual champions and seven finish in the top three to take the team title with 268 points, well ahead of second-place Lodi’s 206. Stevens Point finished with 152.5 points and Mosinee took 18th place with 51 points.
Warren Soik improved to 6-0 this season by winning the 126-pound championship match for SPASH. Woik defeated Owen Noel of Bay Port 6-2 in the final.
Jaren Rohde won the 285-pound title as well for Stevens Point with a pin over Gryffin Janas of Manitowoc in 5:54.
T.J. Schierl finished second at 160 and Conner Seavers was third at 170 for the Panthers.
Mosinee’s top finish came from Logan Johnson, who finished fourth at 195 pounds.
