PLOVER LEGION BASEBALL SPLITS TWO GAMES AT SHEBOYGAN TOURNAMENT

SHEBOYGAN – The Plover American Legion baseball team split a pair of games at the Sheboygan Tournament on Saturday.
The Black Sox lost to Hartford 5-4 in eight innings and came back with an 11-1 rout of Pulaski to improve to 2-1 in the tournament.
Plover and Hartford were tied 3-3 after seven to push the game into extra innings. In the eighth, Hartford scored twice and Plover answered with one run on a balk. Caleb Meyer singled with two outs, but was stranded as the final Black Sox hitter struck out.
The Black Sox dominated Pulaski, scored 11 unanswered run after giving up one in the top of the first.
Kaden Thauer had two hits and scored twice, and Jake Sankey and Tommy Drohner both had two RBIs in the victory.
Bryce Ehr threw a six-inning complete game for Plover, striking out six.
Plover (8-6) will play at 11:45 a.m. Sunday in its final game of the tournament.
