PITTSVILLE BASEBALL SLAMS ALMOND, IMPROVES TO 10-3

PITTSVILLE - The Pittsville Panthers baseball team moved its record to 10-3 overall and 3-1 in the Central Wisconsin South with a 16-0 shutout over Almond-Bancroft on Tuesday night.


The Panthers are now in sole possession of second place with a trip to first-place (4-0) Pacelli on Thursday.


Logan Zickert pitched four innings, striking out six, and walking one. Easton Dammann pitched in one inning of relief, striking out two Eagles' batters.


Waylon Grimm hit a three-run homer as part of the Pittsville eight-run first inning. Noah Grimm had four runs batted in with four hits to help the Panthers from the plate.


The Thursday game at Pacelli will be played at Bukolt Park in Stevens Point with first pitch scheduled for 4:30 p.m. and will be broadcast live at zaleskisports.com.
