NEILLSVILLE BOYS BASKETBALL DOWNS OWEN-WITHEE IN SEASON OPENER

OWEN – The Neillsville boys basketball team pulled away with a strong second half to defeat Owen-Withee 64-53 in its season opener on Tuesday at Owen-Withee High School.
Neillsville led 26-24 at halftime before outscoring the Blackhawks (0-2 overall) by nine in the second half of the Cloverbelt Conference East Division opener for both teams.
Alex Roman scored 21 points, Drew Brown added 14 points and 12 rebounds, and Santana Subke had 12 points and 12 rebounds for Neillsville.
Carter Klabon scored 16 points and Logan Amacher had 13 for Owen-Withee.
Both teams play Cloverbelt East games on Friday. Owen-Withee will be at Colby and Neillsville will host Gilman.
