MOSINEE SOFTBALL SCORES TWO IN SEVENTH TO WIN AT LAKELAND

MINOCQUA – Alanna Bembenek had an RBI double and scored on a passed ball as the Mosinee softball team rallied for an 8-7 win over Lakeland on Thursday.


Lakeland led 7-6 after six innings before Mosinee was able to rally for the win and improve to 9-2 overall and 7-2 in the Great Northern Conference.


Adeline Strejc threw a complete game for Mosinee to earn the win, striking out four. She also added two hits and three RBI.


Mikah Keller and Bembenek both had two hits as well for the Indians.


Saylor Timmerman suffered the loss for Lakeland, despite striking out 15. She did allow seven walks and six hits. Timmerman also had three hits for the Thunderbirds (1-7, 1-5 GNC), including a double and a triple.


Mosinee hosts Marathon for a nonconference game Monday at 5 p.m.
