MOSINEE BOYS SOCCER RIPS AMHERST

MOSINEE – The Mosinee boys soccer game controlled the game from start to finish in rolling to a 12-0 nonconference win over Amherst on Tuesday night at Veterans’ Stadium.
Caden Schmirler took a through ball from Toren Holtz in the 11th minute and put it in to open the scoring, and opened the floodgates for Mosinee.
Schmirler added another goal two minutes later on an assist from Cole Holtz, and Ethan Tazelaar added another goal just one minute after that, on an assist from Jaeger Dhein, to make it 3-0.
Toren Holtz scored on an Ondrej Naprovnik assist in the 21st minute, and two minutes later they reversed roles.
Cole Holtz assisted on goals by Toren Holtz and Dhein in the 30th and 32nd minutes, pushing the Indians’ lead to 7-0 by halftime.
Schmirler finished off a hat trick just 20 seconds into the second half, Tommy Miller had a pair of goals, and Toren Holtz scored two more as well to finish the scoring for Mosinee.
Mosinee (11-4) outshot Amherst (2-8-2), 28-2.
Mosinee returns to Great Northern Conference action at Antigo on Thursday.
