MERRILL UPENDS STEVENS POINT VOLLEYBALL

STEVENS POINT – The Stevens Point volleyball team dropped its Wisconsin Valley Conference opener on Thursday, losing 3-1 to Merrill.

Merrill won 25-6, 25-19, 21-25, 25-23, to improve to 2-0 in WVC play.

Montana Zdroik had 17 assists and four service aces, Emma Barton had seven kills and eight blocks, and Ali Schrank had 23 digs for Stevens Point.

Merrill will host a tournament on Saturday, while Stevens Point will not return to action until Sept. 16 at D.C. Everest.
