LOYAL/GREENWOOD SOFTBALL SPLITS TWO GAMES AT MAUSTON

MAUSTON – The Loyal/Greenwood softball team split a pair of nonconference games on Saturday at Woodside Sports Complex.
Loyal/Greenwood defeated Elmwood/Plum City 10-5 and lost to Amherst 12-0 to open its 2022 season.
In the win over Elmwood/Plum City, Anna Lindner a single, a triple and two RBIs, Delaney Kirchner drove in a pair of runs, and Tysen Lindner added two hits for the Greenhounds.
Emma Schlough earned the win, striking out six in a complete-game effort for L/G.
Loyal/Greenwood was limited into two hits, singles by Zaida Brock and Aspen Hagen, in the loss to Amherst.
Amherst scored eight times in the bottom of the fourth inning to finish off the game via the 10-run rule.
Loyal/Greenwood hosts Eau Claire Regis for a nonconference game at George Scherer Athletic Park in Greenwood on Monday at 5 p.m.
