GREENWOOD – Gilman pitcher Addy Warner struck out 14 and limited Greenwood/Loyal to six hits in a 5-2 victory in Cloverbelt Conference East Division softball action Friday.
The loss for the Greenhounds knocks them out of contention for the Cloverbelt East title as they drop to 12-7 overall and 9-2 in the conference. Neillsville wraps up the outright conference championship after finishing 11-1.
Greenwood/Loyal finishes its regular-season and Cloverbelt East schedule Monday at Marshfield Columbus Catholic.
Kayla Bremmer knocked in both of Greenwood/Loyal’s runs with a single in the fifth inning.
Zaida Brock and Emma Schlough both had two hits for the Greenhounds.
