EDGAR – Edgar pitchers Jordan Bunkelman and Ashton Schuett limited Stratford to two runs and ended the Tigers’ 12-game winning streak with a 4-2 victory in a Marawood Conference South Division baseball game Tuesday at Edgar High School.

The team’s exchanged runs in the opening inning as Gavin Kirsch plated a run on a fielder’s choice for Stratford, and Edgar answered on an RBI sacrifice fly by Bunkelman.

Edgar pulled ahead for good in the fourth when Peyton Dahlke scored on an error.

Bunkelman had another sac fly and Ashton Schuett knocked in a run with a single in the fourth to extend the Wildcats’ lead to 4-1.

Bunkelman tossed 6 1/3 innings with four strikeouts and just one walk to earn the win. Ashton Schuett struck out the final two batters to grab the save as Edgar improves to 8-4 overall and 5-4 in the Marawood South.

Bunkelman walked the leadoff hitter in the seventh before coaxing a groundout and gave way to Schuett. After an RBI single by Henry Zaleski for Stratford (12-2, 7-1 Marawood South), Schuett struck out the next two batters to end it.

Everet Brehm had two of Edgar’s four hits and scored twice in the win.

The two teams will play again Thursday at Stratford. The game will start at 4:45 p.m. and will be broadcast live at
