D.C. EVEREST BASEBALL WINS PITCHERS' DUEL OVER WISCONSIN RAPIDS IN 11 INNINGS

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Chris Wiesman singled home Hayden Davidowski with the go-ahead run in the top of the 11th inning as D.C. Everest held off Wisconsin Rapids 2-1 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference baseball game Tuesday at Lincoln High School.
D.C. Everest scored in the top of the first inning and Wisconsin Rapids tied it up in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI by Ashton Potter.
That was it for the scoring until the 11th as the Evergreens pulled out the pitchers’ duel.
Wyatt Miles struck out seven in six innings and gave way to Cuyler Soppe, who threw five shutout innings to earn the win for D.C. Everest (7-5, 4-2 WVC).
Jordan Tibbetts tossed eight innings for Wisconsin Rapids (10-5, 5-2 WVC), striking out two and walking just one. Jacob Dekarske threw two shutout innings before giving way to Zach Schaeffer, who suffered the loss.
Davidowski had two of D.C. Everest’s five hits.
The two teams will play again Thursday at D.C. Everest.
