MARSHFIELD – Blake Jakobi threw a five-inning one-hitter and was one of four different players to drive in two runs as the Columbus Catholic baseball team shut out Loyal 13-0 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division contest Tuesday at Jack Hackman Field.

The Dons scored twice in the first inning, added five more in the second, and finished off the game via the 10-run rule with a six-run fourth.

Jakobi struck out 10 and didn’t walk a batter, allowing just one single to the Loyal lineup.

Emmitt Konieczny, Jadon Nienast, Cole Timmler and Jakobi each had two RBIs for Columbus Catholic, which improves to 10-6 overall and 6-2 in the Cloverbelt East.

The Dons host first-place Neillsville on Wednesday and Spencer on Thursday.
