ATHENS VOLLEYBALL EARNS COMEBACK WIN OVER GILMAN

ATHENS – Addison Lavicka had 16 kills and 15 assists to pace the Athens volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Gilman in a nonconference match Thursday at Athens High School.
After losing the first set 25-22, Athens rallied for wins of 25-20, 25-20, 25-14, to earn the victory.
Jazelle Hartwig added 18 assists, 12 digs and 10 kills, Sophia Coker added 10 kills, and Savannah Epping had a team-best 13 digs for the Bluejays.
Athens will be at home against Phillips in its Marawood Conference North Division opener on Tuesday.
