ATHENS GIRLS BASKETBALL ROLLS PAST GREENWOOD

ATHENS – The Athens girls basketball team dominated from the start and rolled past Greenwood 61-36 in a nonconference matchup Thursday at Athens High School.
The Bluejays jumped out to a 36-10 lead by halftime on their way to the win. Athens is now 9-1 this season, while Greenwood falls to 2-9.
Sophia Coker had 13 points and 16 rebounds, and Alonna Haines and Jazelle Hartwig each chipped in 10 points for Athens.
Greenwood returns to action Monday with a nonconference game at Spencer. Athens plays a Marawood Conference North Division game at Chequamegon on Tuesday.
