ATHENS BOYS BASKETBALL CLINCHES MARAWOOD NORTH TITLE WITH WIN OVER PHILLIPS

ATHENS – Cooper Diedrich scored 30 points as the Athens boys basketball team clinched the outright Marawood Conference North Division championship with a 63-45 win over Phillips on Friday at Athens High School.


Athens (17-6, 10-5 Marawood North) clinches the outright title with its win and a loss by second-place Chequamegon to Prentice, 75-72, on Friday.


Aiden Janke added 18 points and 13 rebounds for the Bluejays.


Athens hosts Chequamegon for its regular-season and Marawood North finale on Thursday.
