RICHLAND CENTER – The Wisconsin Rapids Assumption girls soccer team won its third straight, edging Richland Center 1-0 in a nonconference game Saturday.

Grace Dolan scored off an assist from Clara Kubis in the 66th minute for the Royals.

Kate Eithun had five saves in goal for Assumption.

“Richland Center was very strong defensively and we had to really grind this one out and stay with our game plan to get the goal near the end,” Assumption coach Jim Wendels said. “It was a great experience and helped us learn to keep working and not settle for a tie.”

Assumption (3-0-2) plays at Amherst/Iola-Scandinavia at Amherst High School on Tuesday.
