AMHERST BASEBALL SWEEPS DAY IN WISCONSIN DELLS

MAUSTON - The Amherst Falcons baseball team used a nine-run third inning and took advantage of 11 walks to defeat Barron 14-5 at he woodside Sports Complex.
Tyler Solesby and Wyatt Blaskowski combined to strike out six and only give up two hits in a light -shortened four innings for the Falcons. Noah Spoelstra had three hits in four plate appearances and drove in three runs.
Prior to the win over Barron, Amherst scored 16 runs in a win over Oconto, scoring an impressive 30 runs in nine innings of play to open the season 2-0 on Friday.
Amherst has a scheduled game again Ladysmith on Saturday and Weyauwega-Fremont on Monday, both appear to be in jeopardy due to weather and field conditions. Stay tuned to Zaleski Sports Wisconsin on Facebook for game updates.
