MARATHON – Ty Falteisek ran for 202 yards and four touchdowns as the Abbotsford football team won its third-straight game to start the season, defeating Marathon 42-12 in the Marawood Conference opener for both teams Friday at Marathon High School.

After a scoreless first quarter, the teams alternated touchdowns in the second. Falteisek had touchdown runs of 27 and 12 yards, and Evan Schunk scored from the 1 to give the Falcons a 20-12 lead at halftime.

The Falcons came out of halftime and dominated, outscoring Marathon (0-3 overall) 22-0 in the third period to take complete control.

Falteisek scored from 15 and 47 yards out, and quarterback JV Castillo ran one in the from the 13 to ice the win for Abbotsford.

Both teams will play nonconference games next Friday, Sept. 10. Abbotsford will be at Rib Lake/Prentice and Marathon will host Bonduel.
