ATHENS – Jazelle Hartwig scored 18 points to help power the Athens girls basketball team to a 65-53 nonconference win over Wabeno/Laona on Monday at Athens High School.
Sophie Coker added 14 points and 15 rebounds, and Addison Lavicka also scored 14 points for Athens, which improves to 11-2 with the win.
The Bluejays shot a sizzling 56 percent from the field (27-for-48) to help offset a tough night at the free throw line where they made just 10 of 27 attempts.
Athens plays a Marawood Conference North Division game at Prentice on Thursday.
