AMHERST – Wittenberg-Birnamwood handed the Amherst baseball team its first Central Wisconsin Conference East Division loss of the season on Monday, winning 7-1 at Amherst High School.
Austin Rekew picked up the pitching win for the Chargers (5-5, 4-2 CWC East) and had three this and two RBIs. Bryce Zoromski added three hits, including a triple, and scored three times in the win.
Wyatt Blaskowski had a double, and Matt Glodowski had a single, stole two bases, and scored Amherst’s lone run.
Amherst is now 9-5 overall and 5-1 in the CWC East. The Falcons play a nonconference game at Manawa on Tuesday.
