STEVENS POINT – James Jacobs scored 24 points to lead the Stevens Point boys basketball team to a 69-39 victory over Wisconsin Rapids in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Tuesday at Stevens Point Area Senior High.

Nate Streveler added 18 points for the Panthers, who are now 9-6 overall and 5-1 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference.

Wisconsin Rapids statistics were not reported. Rapids is now 1-13 overall and 0-7 in the WVC.

Wisconsin Rapids plays a nonconference game at Sparta on Thursday. Stevens Point returns to action Friday at home against Merrill.
