EDGAR BASEBALL DOWNS ASSUMPTION, REMAINS IN TIE FOR FIRST IN MARAWOOD SOUTH

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Edgar baseball team kept pace with Stratford atop the Marawood Conference South Division standings with a 13-2 win over Assumption on Thursday at Witter Field.
The Wildcats are now 10-1 overall and 5-1 in the Marawood South, tied with Stratford for the top spot.
Edgar scored six times in both the third and fourth innings to pull away, winning in five innings via the 10-run rule.
Alec Sullivan and Aaron Livernash each had RBIs for the Royals (3-9, 0-6 Marawood South).
Konnor Wolf earned the win for Edgar, striking out five.
Drew Guden, Austin Dahlke, Jordan Bunkelman and Brady Lemmer each had two hits for the Wildcats.
Edgar plays at Athens and Assumption is at Rib Lake on Friday.
