COLBY GIRLS BASKETBALL KNOCKS OFF ATHENS

COLBY – Hailey Voelker scored a game-high 32 points to lead three Colby players in double figures and the Hornets cruised to an 84-62 win over Athens in a nonconference girls basketball game Thursday night at Colby High School.
Voelker was 12 of 19 from the floor and a perfect 8 of 8 at the free throw line to lead the way for the Hornets (6-4).
Lexi Krebsbach had four 3-pointers and 18 points, and Lexi Underwood hit a pair of 3s and also finished with 18 for Colby.
Allison Wolf has 25 points for Athens (3-7).
Colby is off until Jan. 9 when it plays a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game at Spencer.
