ASSUMPTION SOFTBALL REMAINS UNBEATEN WITH WIN AT EDGAR

EDGAR – The Assumption softball team scored in five different innings and rode the arm of Ava Schill to a 7-1 win over Edgar in a battle of Marawood Conference South Division leaders Tuesday at Edgar High School.


Schill gave up three hits in a complete-game effort, striking out 13 and walking three.


Sammy Nelson had a single and a triple and scored three times, Sadie Galbreath had three RBIs and Abbi Berard had a solo home run to pace the Royals on offense.


Cristin Casey also had two hits and scored twice in the win for Assumption, which remains undefeated at 11-0 overall and 5-0 in Marawood South play.


Skylee Manecke had two of Edgar’s hits and scored a run. The Wildcats fall to 9-4 overall and 3-2 in the conference.


The two teams meet again Thursday at Robinson Park starting at 4:45 p.m. The game will be live at zaleskisports.com.
