AMHERST – The Amherst football team clinched no worse than a share of the Central Wisconsin Conference Large Division title with a 46-6 win over Manawa on Friday night at Amherst High School.
The Falcons improve to 9-0 overall and 6-0 in the CWC Large, while Manawa falls to 2-6 and 1-5 in the conference.
Matthew Glodowski ran for 72 yards and three touchdowns, and quarterback Landon Moe threw for 226 yards and two touchdowns, both to Ian Hall, to pace the Amherst offense.
Amherst built a 31-0 lead by halftime and Jake Hoffman also added a 1-yard scoring run in the second quarter.
The Falcons put the game away in the third with two more touchdowns.
Amherst hosts Stratford next Friday, Oct. 15, as it looks to wrap up an undefeated regular season and CWC Large outright championship.
