PITTSVILLE - The Pittsville Panthers improved to 7-2 overall this season with a convincing 11-1 five-inning win over the Port Edwards Blackhawks on Monday night in a Central Wisconsin Conference South Division contest.
Port Edwards falls to 2-2.
Noah Grimm batted in Evan Haley and Dylan Luther later drove in Grimm to get the scoring started for Pittsville in the first inning.
C Baumgart tallied the lone RBI for Port Edwards in the top of the fifth inning. Then the floodgates opened for Pittsville in the bottom of the fifth, scoring nine. Pittsville used 12 batters in the inning that was highlighted by six hits, all singles.
Luther had three RBI to lead the way for the Panthers from the plate. Grimm picked up the win, pitching all five innings while striking out five.
PIttsville hosts Weyauwega-Fremont Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. Port Edwards will travel to Almond-Bancroft on Tuesday.
