MOSINEE BOYS SOCCER SPLITS TWO GAMES AT HOME TRIANGULAR

MOSINEE – The Mosinee boys soccer team split a pair of games at its home triangular on Saturday at Edgewood Field.


Mosinee defeated Shawano 4-2 and lost to Appleton Xavier 3-2, and is now 3-1 this season.


Trailing 1-0 at halftime against Shawano, Mosinee rallied with three goals between the 49th and 52nd minutes to take control.


Noah Stencil had one of the goals, his first of the season, for the Indians.


Mosinee played two full-length games on Saturday, going 1-1 for the day.


Toren Holtz scored first for Mosinee against Xavier, before the Hawks evened the match.


Mosinee again took the lead, before Xavier rallied again for two goals to pull ahead and grab the victory.


Mosinee opens its Great Northern Conference schedule this week with a game at Eagle River on Tuesday and against Antigo at People’s Soccer Complex in Wausau on Thursday.
