EDGAR WINS 18 EVENTS, TAKES BOYS & GIRLS TEAM TITLE AT HOME TRACK INVITE

EDGAR – Edgar won 18 events and captured both the boys and girls team titles at the Dr. H.A. Schulz Track Invitational on Monday at Edgar High School.


Edgar won both team titles with the boys piling up 256 points and the girls finishing with 184. Assumption was second in both team standings.


The Edgar boys won 12 events and the girls took first in six events to earn the double win.


Ayden Weisenberger won the 200 meters in 23.96 seconds and the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 6 inches, Everet Brehm won the long jump (20-2) and triple jump (42-5), and Teegan Streit won the 110 hurdles (18.06) and 300 hurdles (44.33) to earn double-victories for the Edgar boys.


Morgan Schnelle won a pair of events and was runner-up in two more to lead the Edgar girls.


Schnelle was first in the 400 (1:02.90) and long jump (15-4.75), and was second in the 100 and 200 meters.


The Columbus Catholic boys were fifth with 53 points, and the girls last with 21 points at the seven-team meet.


Andrew Scheer won the boys 800 meters (2:09.41), 1,600 (4:48.29), and 3,200 (10:27.20) for Columbus Catholic.


Mira Torbey had the Columbus Catholic girls top finish, taking third in the 200 in 28.65 seconds.


Ainara Sainz de Rozas won the girls 1,600 (5:55.80) and 3,200 (12:24.14) for the Assumption girls, which also earned victories in the 800 relay (1:55.37) and 3,200 relay (11:47.63).


Blake Lobner won the boys 400 (53.06) and was second in the 800 for the Assumption boys.
