EDGAR TAKES NON-CONFERENCE WIN OVER PACELLI

EDGAR, WI - The Edgar Wildcats baseball team earned a home non-conference win of the Pacelli Cardinals by a score of 8-5 on Friday night.

Edgar scored in each of the first five innings to take an 8-2 lead before giving up three in the top of the seventh. Logan Gagas struck out the first Pacelli batter an then induced a fly out for two quick outs to begin the seventh. Then two walks and an error contributed to a dicey finish for Edgar. Pacelli was able to bat five in the seventh before a final flyout ended the game.

Everet Brehm reached base in all five at bats while driving one in and scoring a run to lead the Wildcats from the plate. Ashton Schuett, Peyton Dahlke, and Jase Apfelbeck all had a pair of RBI in the game. Leyton Schuett picked up the win from the mound with five and two-thirds innings pitched, striking out six and allowing two runs.

Pacelli plays at Amherst in a Saturday double header with first pitch at 9am and broadcast live at zaleskisports.com. Edgar (4-3) hosts Rib Lake on Monday at 4:30pm.
