TOP-SEED NEW LONDON ENDS MOSINEE'S SEASON IN DIVISION 2 SOFTBALL REGIONAL FINAL

NEW LONDON – The Mosinee softball team’s season came to an end with a 9-1 loss to New London in a WIAA Division 2 regional final Thursday at New London High School.


New London (21-4), the No. 1 seed in its half of the Sectional 1 bracket, will host No. 2 Medford (19-6) in a D-2 sectional semifinal Tuesday. Mosinee ends its season, that included a share of the Great Northern Conference title, with a 17-6 record.


Kenna Mix struck out six and limited Mosinee to five hits.


New London scored in five of its six at-bats, with Emma Reismann, Autumn Winkelman and Kenna Mix each had three hits, with Reismann driving in three runs in the victory.


Maria Valls Raya knocked in Amber Gonzalez with an RBI single in the sixth inning for Mosinee’s lone run. Both finished with two hits.
