SPASH SWIMMERS COMPETE AT STATE

WAUKESHA - The SPASH girl's swimming team sent 10 of its swimmers to the 2021 state championships that took place at Waukesha South on Tuesday. Swimmers Sydney Hoff, Sydney Gargulak, Sophie Johnston, Ashley Pahnke, Eloise Cooper, Jillian Engelbright, Anna Johnston, and Brooke Sweicki competed in relay and individual events.
The 200 Yard Medley relay saw the team of Cooper, Hoff, S. Johnston, and Elgelbright take 11th place with a time of 1:51.28. The 200 Yard Freestyle relay team of Elgelbright, Pahnke, Sweicki, and Gargulak took 11th place with a time of 1:41.04. The 400 Yard Freestyle relay team of Pahnke, Elgelbright, Sargulak, and Hoff took 14th place with a time of 3:42.55.
In the 200 Yard Freestyle it was Gargulak placing 11th with a time of 1:57.86 and in 500 Yard Freestyle taking 11th with a time of 5:15.81.

Sydney Hoff claimed 2nd place in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:03.52, just behind Bay Port's Sydney Aird who took first with 1:03.48. Sophie Johnston finished 16th with 1:08.85, besting her seed time of 1:09.72.
SPASH finished in 11th place with a team score of 60 points. Edgewood claimed the team title with 350 points.
