Zaleski Sports

WESTON - The SPASH Panthers baseball team moved its Wisconsin Valley conference record to a perfect 4-0 with a 2-0 win over D.C. Everest (4-4, 3-2) on Wednesday night.

The Panthers are now 8-1 overall and will head back to Marathon County on Thursday night for a 5 p.m. game at conference foe Wausau West.

D.C. Everest had a baserunner every inning except for the sixth and wasn't able to score as Stevens Point pitching was stingy allowing only five hits and striking out 11.

The Panthers got an RBI base hits from Bryce Ehr in the second inning and Ben Raczek in the seventh. Everest brought the tying run to the plate twice in the bottom of the seventh, but Nick Cotter struck out looking and Kaden Kreitlow grounded out to end the game. Both put-outs were recorded by pitcher Riley Warzynski.

Noah Marschke picked up the win and Warzynski the save for SPASH. Nate Langbehn was the losing pitcher of record for DC. Everest.
