PLOVER LEGION SHUTS OUT SHEBOYGAN

SHEBOYGAN – Kenny Schultz and Jackson Fox combined on a one-hit shutout to lift the Plover Legion baseball team to a 12-0 win over Sheboygan on Thursday night to open play in the Sheboygan Legion Tournament.
Schultz struck out eight and allowing just one hit without a walk in six strong innings for the Black Sox (10-4). Fox finished up with a scoreless seventh.
Plover scored three times in the first and second innings, and put away the win with a six-run seventh inning.
The Black Sox smashed 16 hits, including four doubles. Matt Eiden and Jon Nafe each had three hits and two RBI, and Tommy Drohner and Carl Biechler each had two this and two RBI for Plover.
Plover will play Green Bay Southwest at 3:30 p.m. on Friday as the tournament continues.
